Nervous

Brigid, when she doesn't want to go to sleep, has taken to sitting in her crib, calling, 'mommy, help me. daddy, help me' over and over again, until one of us responds. Because, help me? Really? We're supposed to tune that one out?

(She knows us a little too well, I think...)

Saturday night, when Steve took me out for my birthday, and my in-laws were watching her for the night, she went to bed crying, 'mommy, mommy, mommy' over and over again.

In less than two weeks, Steve and I will be going to the Dominican Republic for a week, without Miss B in tow.

And I...well, I don't know how well this is going to work out for any of us, really.

  1. Aw, that is sad! I know it never seems like it will be ok, but I'm sure it will all work out in the long run. Is the plan for her to stay at home or is she going to stay elsewhere? Jacob sleeps better at other people's houses, and likes to wake up in the middle of the night to bother me and me alone.

  2. Elizabeth likes to call "I NEED YOU! I'M SO SAD!" Because I mean, really? Can you ignore that?

I'm sure it will be fine. Well, I hope it will be fine.

  3. The good news is that you are COMPLETELY normal, and so is Brigid.

It's a learning process and there's always an adjustment period when you start going away without the littles. Maybe you can print up a book of pictures of the three of you, some of just you and her and some of just her and Steve, so she has them to look at while you're gone, and give her a new stuffed animal to keep her company (one that's holding a picture frame with a photo of the three of you would be awesome!).

    Just some ideas. :)
